It all started on a rainy Friday.

Feeling reflective that morning, Andee decided to get out of the house for a drive. With no destination in mind, she somehow found herself in the parking lot of her church.

She sat on the steps outside the locked doors, closed her eyes, and prayed. She asked for the right person to come into her life. Someone kind, gentle, compassionate, and someone who would stand by her side through every season ahead.

Before leaving, Andee turned around and admired how beautiful the church looked, even on such a gloomy day. She took a photo to remember that quiet moment and the prayer she had just shared.

A few hours later, Andee matched with Marc on a dating app called Bumble.

Looking back, it’s hard to believe that drive happened by chance. What seemed like an ordinary afternoon now feels like God gently leading Andee exactly where she needed to be before answering her prayer and bringing Marc into her life.

From the moment they met, everything felt easy. Conversation came naturally, laughter came effortlessly, and they quickly discovered just how much they had in common.

As they got to know each other, they realized their lives had been crossing paths long before they officially met. They had grown up in neighboring towns, only 15 minutes apart. Long before they met, Marc’s family had celebrated countless special occasions at Andee’s family’s restaurant, where Andee had often been working. Without ever realizing it, they had been in the same place many times before. Never knowing the person they would one day marry was only a few tables away.

That summer, Marc and Andee fell in love while trying new things, sharing their love of food, and creating memories with the people they loved most. Almost every weekend, they found themselves driving down to Harvey Cedars on Long Beach Island, where some of their favorite early memories were made by the water. Those weekends became such a special part of their story that years later, they named their puppy Harvey as a reminder of the place that held so many of their first moments together.

To everyone around them, it was clear how naturally they fit together. To Marc and Andee, it simply felt like they had found the person they had been waiting for all along.

As their relationship grew, so did the life they were creating together. Marc and Andee took the next step by buying their first home in Point Pleasant, where they began building a place that was truly their own. It was there that they learned what it meant to share not only the big milestones and accomplishments, but also the everyday moments that turn a house into a home.

One year later, in true Marc fashion, he planned the most thoughtful proposal. On the terrace of Two Bryant Park, with the Empire State Building glistening in the background and the sun setting around them, Marc asked Andee to marry him, beginning the next chapter of their story together.

Looking back now, it’s impossible not to see how that simple prayer became the first page of their story. The same church where Andee sat on the steps and prayed for the person she would share her life with is now the place where Marc and Andee will say “I do” and begin their forever together.
